Why this project
“I support transit” is a sentence anyone can say. Voting for it is not.
Transit Watch tracks the votes — who showed up, who voted yes, who voted no, who didn’t vote — across every body whose decisions affect Las Vegas transit. The scorecard is the thing that makes the rhetoric and the record line up. It is neither an attack nor an endorsement; it is the public record, organized.
Approach
- Define a public methodology — which votes count, how each is weighted, why
- Cite every scored vote with the agenda item, the date, and the official record
- Publish scorecards in plain language and as downloadable data
- Update on a public cadence so officials can see their own scores climb or fall in real time
- Coordinate scoring with the Local Government Program’s meeting coverage and the State of Vegas Transit annual report
