The 2027 Session Campaign

Overview

The 2027 Session Campaign is LVBT’s public organizing effort for the Nevada legislative session. It gives supporters one visible place to find the ask, the timeline, the next action, and the public status of the transit funding fight.

State Legislator Outreach handles the relationship work in Carson City. This campaign turns that work into something members, riders, workers, and neighbors can join.

Motivation

RTC faces major service pressure before the next legislative window. If Las Vegas enters the 2027 session without public pressure, prepared testimony, and visible support, the Valley risks treating transit funding as someone else’s issue until cuts are already on the table.

Legislative relationships matter most when residents can see the ask, understand the stakes, and show up at the right moment.

Approach

The campaign runs from fall 2026 through sine die in June 2027. LVBT will maintain a live campaign hub, organize supporter delegations, pair hearings with comment-period pushes, and recap major milestones publicly.

Key moments include the campaign launch in fall 2026, the February 2027 start of session, spring committee hearings, and the post-session transition into a plain public recap of what passed, what failed, and who helped.

Activities

The campaign will maintain a public hub with the ask, hearing dates, weekly actions, supporter lists, and plain-language status updates. It will give members one place to send people when they ask what the 2027 fight is about.

The public record will include supporter delegations to Carson City, written comments, testimony opportunities, campaign recaps, and a post-session account of who championed better transit when it mattered.
