Our programs

For Las Vegas residents who’ve never gotten to ride a transit system that is frequent, reliable, and easy to use, our transit and urbanist education programming connects better city design to more pleasant places to live.

That starts with showing what car dependency costs people every day: longer trips, hotter walks, more dangerous streets, higher household expenses, and fewer choices for people who cannot or do not want to drive.

The other half is showing what better transit can make possible. A good bus network is not just a different way to commute. It changes who can reach school, who can keep a job without a car payment, which neighborhoods feel connected, and how much public life a city can support.

The goal is to help more residents:

• notice when street and transit decisions affect ordinary life
• talk about buses, streets, land use, and funding without needing insider language
• compare what exists now with better choices other cities already take for granted
• bring their own experiences into public meetings, neighborhood conversations, and campaigns

Major transit decisions happen in public, but most residents don’t have an easy way into that process, and agencies don’t always have an easy way to reach the people affected by it. This program is the bridge: we track what’s moving, explain it in plain terms, and connect residents directly to the people making the call.

When a transit decision is moving, people should be able to understand:

• who is making the decision
• what choice is actually on the table
• who benefits or gets left out
• what they can do about it

That works in both directions. We do public records work, voter education, and help residents understand when and how to speak at a public hearing, and we work with people already inside those agencies who want residents at the table.

Transit is one of the ways people in this Valley actually connect with each other. This program builds real relationships among the riders, students, workers, and neighbors across Southern Nevada who care about better transit and better neighborhoods.

Some of that happens through partnerships with institutions and community groups. Some of it is simpler: regular ways for people to meet, learn from each other, and get better at organizing together over time. Along the way, that also builds people who remember how things got done before, and a wider network of people who already care about transit.

Over time, that’s what makes it possible for people to show up together when a campaign or hearing comes up, already knowing and trusting each other.
