Why this project
Faculty at UNLV and CSN already have direct exposure to the Valley’s transit problem — through their own commutes, their students’ commutes, the parking economics of their campuses, and (in many cases) their academic research. A subset of them are willing to speak publicly about transit and land use. We don’t currently have a way to find them, organize them, or surface their voices to legislators and journalists.
Goals
- Build a roster of 25+ Valley faculty open to public-facing transit advocacy by end of 2026
- Recruit faculty contributors for our research and accountability work
- Identify faculty willing to testify or submit comment at the 2027 legislative session
- Create a pipeline for faculty-led op-eds and explainer pieces
